Professor Kemelmacher-Shlizerman's research is in computer vision, computer graphics, deep learning, audio, AR/VR.

Ira is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Allen School, Director of the UW Reality Lab, and an Eng Lead at Google.

Prof. Kemelmacher-Shlizerman holds a PhD in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Her works were awarded the Google faculty award, Madrona prize, the GeekWire 2016 Innovation of the Year Award, Geekwire's Geek of the Week, selected to the covers of CACM and SIGGRAPH, and best student paper award at CVPR'21. Her work is frequently covered by national and international media, such as the BBC, CNN, and New York Times. Ira serves as area chair and technical committee of top conferences in both computer vision and graphics, CVPR and SIGGRAPH. She is a senior member of both IEEE and ACM.

On business side, Ira built several products: photo feature "Face Movies" used by millions at Google in 2010, in 2016 she founded and was the CEO of startup Dreambit acquired by Facebook, in 2016-2018 she worked at Facebook, and currently back at Google leading 10x initiative in fashion.
